Types of Biryani

India is the country famous for its mouth watering flavours. Biryani is one of the most famous foods of india & is admired  in  the whole country.  These are the 5 types of birayni in india you must try atleast once in your life time.

1. Hyderabadi biryani

Hyderabadi biryani is cooked in two ways,  one is kachi & other is pakki or yakhni. In kachi biryani,  meat is layered first & then layering of basmati is done,  & in yakhni the meat is layered above rhe rice. In hyderabad biryani is made in bulk  & kachi biryani is prefference. It is believed that flavour has irani influence in hyderabad's food.

2. Malbar biryani

Malbar biryani is made in malbar coast of india. It has the influence of arabs. Unlike other biryanis, tomatoes are also added in malbar biryani. It is spicier than any biyani you will eat. Served  with date pickle & raita

3. 2 Gosht ki biryani

As the name suggest this biryani is made of two types of meats, mainly mutton & chicken kofta. The flavour of meat is more dominant in 2 gosht ki biryani. It is influenced from middle east.  Rampur is the place famous for 2 gosht ki biryani.

4. Kolkata biryani

Kolkata biryani has potatoes added in it. When wajid ali moved to kolkata from lucknow,  he found that potato,  which was an exotic food in those times, very tasty & ordered his cooks to add potatoes to biryani, since then without potatoes, kolkata biryani is incomplete. Potatoes give mashy flavors to biryani

5. Lucknowi biryani

Lucknowi biryani is basically not biryani,  it is yakhni pulao,  but it is sold in market in the name of biryani as the people are more connected to it by the name of biryani.  Unlike hyderabadi biryani it is cooked in small portions so that rice is not compressed because of weight.  The taste is remarkable.
