1. Paneer / cottage cheese



Paneer is a very good source of protein, & hence vegetarian. It is a milk product & also you can say indian cheese . It tastes very good and is part of many popular dished in india. 100 gms of paneer gives you around 20 gms of protein.

2. Soya chunks



Soya chunks are a very good good source of protein. It contains largest quantity of protein in vegetarian food .   you  get 52 gms protein in 100 gms of Soya chunks

3. Green peas



Green peas is a very good source of protein . It is widely used in India as the secondary ingredient in dishes  like matar paneer  aloo paneer etc. One cup of boiled green pea gives you around 7 gms of protein.

4. Lentils/ Dals



India consumes dal daily and in a staple food. Although the quantity of protein in Dals vary but some dals like moong ,rajma are higher in protein.

5. Spinach



Spinach is also a good source of protein and iron as well. It is used in many famous Indian dishes. It gives you around 5 gms of protein per cup
