A TRIP TO MY VILLAGE

"UTTRAKHAND" The land of gods, is not only famous for it's beauty,  but also for adventures and it's wildlife.

last year, in summers me and my brother decided to go to our village without our parents for the first time. Our village 'Dharkot' is around 90 kms from the Tehri district in uttrakhand. Though it is very long, tiring on road journey of around 12 hours from delhi, we reached there fatigued.

Next morning, me, my brother,  my two cousin sisters & chachaji headed towards uttarkashi to take my cousin's  diploma , that is again around 90kms from Dharkot.

On the way  to uttarkashi we saw a carcass of a cow in Dhanturi. Chachaji told me that the cow was hunted by a leopard. Soon we  reached uttarkashi had lunch around at 2pm took the diploma and headed back to Dharkot. We were also excited as chachaji had promised us that he would take us to Nachiketa tal in Chaurangi khal.chaurangi khal is a very beautifull place with dense forest and greenery,  Nachiketa tal is a pond in high altitude above the mountains. What makes it more beautiful is that it has fishes in the pond.

By the time we fogot about the carcass, we were enjoying our journey, I saw something jumping fom one side of the road to other.'Aah' I screamed, horrified. 'Leopard' that was.Unlike the normal colour it had wheatish skin with black spots & larger than the size we see in the zoo. Only me & chachaji observed that beauty for longer time as we were sitting in front. unfortunately my siblings got only one moment to see the leopard as it climbed down as the car stopped. One of my sister told me that she thought that i screamed because chachaji drove the car out of the road. The leopard was eating the carcass of the same cow that we saw in the morning.

Around at 4pm we reached chaurangi khaal, trekked to nachiketa taal and clicked some awesome photos there. After some time we came down, drove to Dharkot and clicked some awesome pictures of moon in lambgaon on the way.we reached our home at around 9pm. I was so happy as it was my very first experience watching a leopard like this. Believe  me, it's  more pleasing than watching these beautiful creature in cage.

Jaunsar - The land of witches

Every child is fond of listening to stories, specially if the story is mysterious. When i was a child,  my nanaji used to  tell me stories of many mysterious places in uttrakhand. One of the heated topic on those stories were of jaunsar, a place in uttrakhand where people believe witches exist.  The story, that i remember from my nanaji's side is that once my nanaji's grandfather went to jaunsar for development of roads. Hence he wondered that all the stories from jaunsar were a myth & other engineers were not ready to go there, he got ready for the project of jaunsar. The day he reached jaunsar a cat tried to enter the flat alloted to him, which looked a little bigger than the normal cat. While the cat was trying to enter through the window, he threw wooden photo frame on the cat. He was really terrified by the cat because of it's abnormal size, he had understood that it was one of the witches of jaunsar. The next day when he woke up he noticed that one of the woman in

Seeing the angels , jeetu got scared  and started channtting bhairav devta's name. When he opened the eyes frightenedly ,all angels were gone.
